General Terms and Conditions of use
of GONDWANA - das Praehistorium
1. German road traffic regulations apply in the car parking areas of GONDWANA - das Praehistorium.
Vehicles may be parked only in marked parking spaces. In the event of violation of this rule, GONDWANA - das Praehistorium reserves the right to have vehicles towed away at the owner's expense. Parking fees do not include supervision of the vehicles. When leaving their vehicles, visitors are therefore responsible for ensuring that they are properly locked and that no valuables are visible. Visitors use the GONDWANA car parking facilities at their own risk.
GONDWANA - das Praehistorium accepts no liability for theft of or from vehicles, for damage to them or for their accessibility.
2. Admission tickets entitle visitors to admission to das Praehistorium at the designated entrances on the day purchased between the admission hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets are stamped individually and are then valid for the whole day. They cease to be valid when das Praehistorium closes for the day. Should das Praehistorium close early, for example on public holidays or for reasons beyond the control of GONDWANA - das Praehistorium, visitors are not entitled to a full or partial refund of the admission fee. This also applies to admission tickets purchased in advance. Opening hours may be changed without prior notice.
3. GONDWANA - das Praehistorium is not obliged to make reimbursement for admission tickets sold in advance. It may do so on a goodwill basis at its own discretion. Tickets purchased in advance will not be accepted for reimbursement at the box office.
4. A season ticket entitles the person in whose name it is issued to admission to das Praehistorium during general opening hours for one year beginning on the day of purchase, in accordance with the conditions stated here and on the season ticket itself. It is non-transferable and will be withdrawn without compensation in the event of abuse. Purchase of the season ticket does not imply entitlement to daily opening of das Praehistorium for the duration of the ticket's validity.
5. Delays and long queues are possible during opening hours. Groups who have booked for a particular time may therefore also expect waiting times. No responsibility will be accepted for any loss resulting from such delays.
6. Reductions in accordance with campaigns or special offers are granted only at the box office. Such reductions do not apply to group visits and to tickets purchased in advance. Multiple admission fee reductions cannot be used in combination.
7. Visitors must present their admission tickets to supervisory staff upon request. Should a visitor be unable to produce a valid admission ticket, he or she will be obliged to pay the full entrance charge in compensation for all entitlements bestowed by the ticket.
8. Children aged 13 and under may enter GONDWANA - das Praehistorium only if accompanied by an adult. Children's groups visiting GONDWANA - das Praehistorium must be accompanied by a designated responsible adult. This person must identify him or herself to staff of GONDWANA - das Praehistorium by presentation of an official identity card or passport. The accompanying adult is responsible for supervising the children and in particular for assuring their safety and protecting them against harm.
9. Visitors are at liberty to enjoy das Praehistorium in the context of its intended purpose. Visitors are not permitted to leave the marked routes or to touch the exhibits. Under no circumstances may barriers be crossed. A failure of animations or of parts of exhibits does not entitle visitors to a reduction in the admission charge. GONDWANA - das Praehistorium accepts no responsibility for changes, removal, inaccessibility, closure or failure of exhibits or parts of exhibits. GONDWANA - das Praehistorium excludes any such liability.
10. Robust footwear is essential for a safe and pleasant visit to das Praehistorium. All visitors are further expected to behave politely and considerately. The riding of skateboards or inline skates or the use of scooters or any other form of mobile equipment is prohibited within das Praehistorium and on the rest of the site for safety reasons. The sole exemption from this rule is the use of mobility equipment by persons with disabilities.
11. Smoking is prohibited in all areas.
12. The consumption of food and drink is prohibited in das Praehistorium and is permitted only in the designated catering area.
13. Dogs and other animals may not be brought onto the premises. The carrying of weapons or other dangerous objects (such as knives, knuckeldusters, etc.) in das Praehistorium or elsewhere on the site is prohibited.
14. Visitors enter GONDWANA - das Praehistorium and enjoy the facility at their own risk. The facility is available to users within the scope of the applicable restrictions upon its use. Adults are not permitted to use children's play equipment.
15. Visitors must take responsibility for their own safety and follow the instructions of supervisory personnel under all circumstances. Visitors are prohibited from using their own radios, cassette players or other audio entertainment or recording devices, or musical instruments.
16. The special effects in das Praehistorium and poor outdoor weather may give rise to a risk of slipping or tripping. Visitors must therefore take the necessary care throughout das Praehistorium and outdoor parts of the site. Visitors may not enter water features anywhere on the entire site. The throwing of objects into the water is prohibited.
17. Filming and the taking of photographs is prohibited.
18. No liability will be accepted for injury to persons or damage to property (including accidents, damaged clothing, etc.) caused by a lack of attention on the part of those concerned, their failure to observe these general Terms and Conditions of use, or negligence on their part or that of third parties.
19. GONDWANA - das Praehistorium accepts liability for damage or injury where caused by culpable violation of its essential contractual obligations or where attributable to gross negligence or wilful action on the part of its staff. Liability shall be excluded in the case of ordinary negligence. This provision shall not prejudice liability for injury or impairment of health.
20. Visitors shall be liable to GONDWANA - das Praehistorium for any damage caused by wilful action or negligence. Parents and supervisors of groups must properly fulfil their supervisory duties. In this context, parents and supervisors will be held responsible for any damage caused by persons under their supervision.
21. Visitors are requested to look after any possessions they may have with them, such as bags and jackets. GONDWANA - das Praehistorium accepts no liability for any loss. This also applies to any items left by visitors in areas designated as cloakrooms.
22. Any person harassing other visitors, accessing das Praehistorium or the outdoor part of the site other than by the designated entrances, and/or disobeying signs or instructions by the supervisory personnel, may be instructed to leave das Praehistorium without entitlement to reimbursement of the admission charge.
23. Persons under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating substances may be refused entrance to das Praehistorium or instructed to leave das Praehistorium and the site. The supervisory staff are entitled to exercise the rights enjoyed by the owner of the property.
24. Advertising, opinion surveys and similar activities are prohibited within das Praehistorium itself and in the outdoor areas. The same applies to advertising for and announcements by political parties, associations, interest groups and other such organizations. Violation of this rule will result in reprimand, civil action and reporting for criminal trespass.
